The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Tampa Bay is accepting scholarship applications for the 2021-2022 Academic year.
About this Event
These scholarships provide dedicated and deserving students with additional funding to assist in successfully transitioning from high school to technical institutes, community colleges, vocational schools, colleges, and universities.
Scholarships in the following amounts will be awarded:
High School: $1000 first place, $750 second place
College/University: $1000 first place, $750 second place
High School/College/University Student Eligibility:
SME Member in good standing (member number)
High School or College/University Student
500-word essay
State of Florida resident
Minimum GPA of 2.5 (unweighted) on a 4.0 scale
Academic reference
Applicants must also plan to pursue a career in manufacturing or related engineering field of studies such as Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

The application must include a 500 maximum word essay answering the question “What inspires you to pursue a career in the manufacturing/engineering field?” Winners will be notified by December 1st.
