The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) Tampa Bay, Florida Suncoast Chapter 159 would like to extend an invitation to our tour of Johnson Controls in Tampa, FL. The tour will take place on Thursday, April 25th from 6:00-7:30 PM.
With locations throughout the world, Johnson Controls is the world largest automotive battery manufacturer, about a third of the industry’s output and also the largest recycler of conventional vehicle batteries. Johnson Controls offer customers a range of lead-acid and lithium-ion battery technology to power nearly every type of passenger, commercial and recreational vehicle—from conventional to fully electric.
Our Tampa plant assembles and forms SLI batteries for aftermarket customers.
All tour participants must adhere to the following visitor requirements for the manufacturing areas:
– Participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement upon arrival at the facility.
– Shorts are prohibited.
– Non-skid sole, fully closed shoes are required. Heels should be no more than 2” high and at least 1” wide at the base.
– Food, drink, gum, and candy are prohibited.
– Cameras/Camera Phones are not allowed in the manufacturing areas.
